FMCSA Launching Training Provider Registry

FMCSA Launching Training Provider Registry

On February 7, 2022, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will launch the Training Provider Registry. The Training Provider Registry will connect commercial driver’s license (CDL) applicants with training providers to complete the required entry-level driver training. This registry will help improve safety on American roads by receiving, retaining, and relaying a record of CDL applicants that have completed the required entry-level driver training.

How the Training Provider Registry Works

Drivers: Drivers can search for training providers on the website.

Training Providers: Registered training providers can submit training certification information to FMCSA after drivers complete training.

States: States can verify a driver’s completion of required training.

Entry-Level Driving Training is required for the following:

New CMV operating licenses;
CMV license upgrades (from a Class B license to a Class A license);
CMV license endorsements for passenger (P), hazardous materials (H) or school bus (S); and
Previously disqualified CDL holders seeking reinstatement (“refresher” training).
